Tofu and others... re Tier 1 renewal

Hi ladies... so I sent off my passport and application for my Tier 1 renewal at the beginning of Feb. I haven't heard anything back...

I've just been on UK Yankee and people are going on about a biometrics appt ... it sounds like you have an appt then have to send that off before your visa is approved? I read something about this for the card they do now instead of the sticker, but I thought you only got that done once it was approved?

So I did a biometrics appt back in the US when I originally applied for my Tier 1 (March 2009) - is this the same thing?

I'm supposed to travel to the states for a conference on the 30th and obviously can't without a passport - I'm so frustrated!! I wish I had just applied in person but I thought my timings would be fine.

Re: Tofu and others... re Tier 1 renewal

  • Yes, you will now get a BRMP card instead of a vignette in your passport for Tier 1 extensions. It's similar to the one that you did in the US, but you have to do it again each time.

You should have received your biometrics appointment by now, call the general line at 0870 606 7766 to chase it up.
