Traditions and Celebrations
Do you have any little traditions that you do to celebrate certain days?
For example, as today is Pi Day, my sister and I will partake in some sort of pie during lunch.

Re: Traditions and Celebrations
During St. Patrick's Day, in addition to that boiled dinners served for us at various family gatherings, Chris and I will also sit down and watch Boondock Saints.
On Mardis Gras, my mom made jumbalaya, we drink Hurricanes and have Kings Cake while wearing beads, just for fun.
On May 4th I usually watch a Star Wars movie.
On November 5th, my sister and I will always watch V for Vendetta.
ETA: yup -- I totally just made this a new post so that I wouldn't look like a loser with no one responding to me. ;p

Every 12/1, DH & I watch 'A Year Without a Santa Claus'
If Cinco De Mayo falls on a work day, we'll go out for burritos. If it's on the weekend, we'll go out for drinks
I celebrate my 1/2 half birthday lol
Umm I'm sure there are more, these are the only ones I can think of at the moment

Usually margs and guac, some other kind of Mexican for Cino de Mayo.
I usually make shepherd's pie and drink some Killians for St. Patty's day. And usually make Guinness/Bailey's cupcakes to being into the office.
We always go up to Breckenridge day after Thanksgiving - it's usually all snowy, makes it feel more like winter has really started.
Christmas Vacation and White Christmas are always watched while we decorate the tree.
I can't really think of anything else...
we do-
The usuals- cinco de mayo is my little brothers birthday so we play Cinco de Drinko- Drink too much and eat terribly. Next year he is 21 and it will get ugly I am certain. We also always go Black Friday shopping as a family, eat lunch as soon as the places open, take a nap and then go to the City of Cincinnati tree lighting. We eat at the same bar and hang out after. It was fun. We also always do 4th of July, St. Patty's day and even sometimes Mardi Gras.
We do oktoberfest big here in cincy and my friends always have a party. We also include Beerfest and the wine festival to that list.
As for others- we plan to celebrate one year in our house at the end of the month. We are buying a tree to plant in the yard and will do something special every year. We go all out on birthdays and we always celebrate the anniversary.
Ever since I was little my mom always made Green Eggs (scrambled eggs with good coloring) and Ham on St. Patty's Day. So, she still makes me that when I go down to the house on a Saturday surrounding St. Patty's Day.
Doug and I watch the Grinch Who Stole Christmas cartoon every Thanksgiving night.
I make fajitas and 'ritas on Cinco de Mayo.
My half birthday is the day after Big M's birthday, so my family has always celebrated my half birthday (keeping half Big M's birthday cake for me). So, I still do that, haha
A couple friends and I were short on cash in HS during the holiday season, so, we decided to celebrate Christmas on the first holiday out of the holiday season. So, we tend to do Christmas on MLK Day.
I insist on watching Day After Tomorrow and eating Kraft Mac & Cheese during a snowstorm.
Doug and I went on a group date for our first date. We saw Scary Movie 2 at 5:05 on a Thursday night. So, every year on the anniversary of that date, we either watch Scary Movie 2 or we actually go to the movies.
New Year's my grandma makes dinner-nothing big, but a chance for us to get together. Usually we're all hungover, so we drink more.
St. Patty's my mom makes corned beef and potatoes (no cabbage-dad forbids the cooking of cabbage in the house)
My mom and I (sometimes my brother) go to a friend's house for Passover dinner. We do an abridged version of the prayer, my brother tries to speak Hebrew, and I eat half a brisket. Lots of wine involved.
Easter my mom makes ham 'n lamb. Lots of wine involved. (See a pattern?)
Thanksgiving-usual. Lots of food, lots of wine.
Christmas eve we go to a friend's house, it's the one time a year I eat salmon.
Christmas day-actually I hosted for the first time last year, and it went so well, I may do it again this year.
