I kind of inexplicably like both of these shows even though I spend the whole time I watch them finding them redick.
GCB--so over the top and silly. I think the second episode picked up when Amanda finally started showing a little backbone. I like Annie Potts as the mom.
Smash--Yeah, the songs outside the musical with full, imaginary backup singers are awful and I can't figure out why one, much less two, men are attracted to Debra Messing, but there's something that keeps drawing me back. I can't quit it.
Re: Smash and GCB
I love Annie Potts so much, and she looks amazing. I have no idea why I am watching GCB, but I have no intention of deleting it from my Season Pass list.
Maybe the two men are attracted to Debra Messing because she has great hair?

I didn't think I'd be into GCB because all the religion has the potential to turn me off. I liked the first episode but like the 2nd one even more. I'm going to give it a shot. One Tree Hill is almost over and GA and PP never seem to be on and I need something to watch on the treadmill.
I'm not watching Smash but I am loving House of Lies so that's also a treadmill show. Nurse Jackie has to be starting soon too.
Yes! And the religion is totally tongue-in-cheek.
