Once Upon a Time

So I didn't see anyone discuss this earlier and I went back to page two on the board.

The only thing I didn't understand, though, was the grandmothers preparation at night.  I get it from the story telling point and keeping us in the dark, but the reality of it....  you can't argue that she did it all to keep Red in, because Red clearly got out.  Multiple times.  And the grandmother knows this.

Was it all a ruse to keep RED from knowing?  But still, then... it just doesn't make sense.

we were commenting on the same thing- she was facing the door with the gun so why if she was trying to keep red in? Didn't make much sense and we were hoping they would have explained it

I thought she was protecting Red from the hunters and I didn't assume Red was the wolf that was killing everyone. Since Granny was one too, I just figured there were other wolves out there besides her.

At the time, I didn't think it was Red either.  I thought they were purposely shutting up the house to keep the wolf OUT.  But the grandmothers intention could have been to keep the men out - didn't think of that.

But then the cape/red thing- she insisted Red wear red to repel the wolf...??? Again, WHY, if she was the wolf?

  • I think granny was protecting red from the truth and protecting her from the hunting party.  How she got out and why she didn't stop her, I have no idea. I guess it wouldn't make for a good story line.

I do wonder what it means for Red in Storybrooke.  Is she the wolf that was in the road when Emma was trying to leave?  And, what does that mean the doctor is?

  • I believe that when Snow and Granny found Red in the woods Granny said that the red cape kept her from turning at night. That is why when they put it over the wolf in the woods she turned back into Red.

Oh, ok.  So... clearly she's been taking it off, though, despite her grandmothers command to leave it on. And if this is the case, I'd think Grannie would either realize she needs to find another way to 'make" her keep it on, OR fess up.

Or were those other attacks other wolves?  But the set of prints she and MM followed went back to her cottage....

I thought those were Red's prints? as a wolf then turned into human, they led to hier window which is why they thought it was Peter coming to see her but it must have been Red coming home

THey were - that's what I mean.  Grannie is doing this whole "thing" to keep someone out or keep Red in - we don't which.  If she's trying to keep Red in, it's not working as WE know - but I'm wondering if Grannie realizes that.  As in does Grannie think it was another wolf that killed those men?

  • The hood was magic and was supposed to keep Red from turning.  I thought Grannie told Snow she bought it to keep Red from turning, but that Red wont (or forgets to) keep it on.  So I assummed she knew that Red was getting out.

  • I thought that maybe Granny just feel asleep or Red/Red as the wolf would go out Reds window. I didn't think too much into it. Heh.
