Before my runs I've been eating a banana with PB and my coffee but I'm starting to feel sick during hardest part of my run. What else can I add in the morning to eat that won't feel heavy in my stomach? I'm only running 45 mins but I'm pushing my girls in the jogger and it's a bit harder of a workout.
Re: pre run food
I wouldn't think about adding anything, maybe just changing it.
I would not be able to run with coffee in my stomach because it's so acidic. Some people can do it, but it's also definitely a major irritant for others. I'd sub that for water and see how you feel.

I don't run in the mornings, unless it's for a race.
My pre-race breakfast is toast w/ butter, coffee & a little water.
peanut butter makes me want to vom if i eat it before running. I found this out the hard way last week. I went out for a 5mi run (about 41 min on a good day) and 3 miles in I felt like my guts exploded. -- I was having a super great run, mile 3 was an 8:00, then BAM.. i felt like rocks were jiggling around in my stomach. it was horrible. before I ran i ate toast w/ peanut butter. It was 1.5hrs prior to running.. I'll NEVER eat PB again before a run.
I can't do PB before a run either, I tried it twice and each time I had stomach issues.
I'm another runner who doesn't have a problem with coffee before a run. I would try cutting out one element, or swapping it out rather, each run until you find the culprit.
If you're looking for other options for breakfast before a run, I usually enjoy 8 ounces of cream of wheat with some brown sugar and a coffee.
