What is on the agenda for today! I have to work later but now I am watching a bit of TV and playing on the computer.
QOTD: Are you Irish? What is your background/heritage?
Re: Good Morning Nesties!
Morning! I started work a little later than normal today and I'm not a fan of it really - I have to deal with more idiots on the road at the later time... (nearly got knocked off my bike by another cyclist as he cut across the road in front of me without looking). Found out this morning that my grandfather (nearly 97) broke his hip last night... fingers crossed he has a successful operation today. Other than that it is work, home, play, dinner and off tomorrow.
QOTD: YES I AM!!! 100% Irish... and very proud of it! That being said, I don't think I'll be doing anything for St Patrick's day... dh is going to watch rugby in the pub for 7 hours with a friend and I'll have N instead. But we do have Monday off work for the bank holiday. And Sunday is Mother's Day here.
I'm finishing up Thursday here. And tomorrow I'm off to Canberra for a US-Fest weekend! Well, at least it will feel that way to me. I'm meeting a college friend and hanging out with her family before they head back State-side. We have tickets to an exhibit of historical manuscripts and we are touring Parliament House -- just to see if its that different than the US Capital.
Yes, I am all over excited about it!!
QOTD: To the best of my knowledge, there is not a bit of Irish blood in me. On my Dad's side, my heritage is French & German, in fact, we can trace the line back to the first French landing in Louisiana. On my mother's father's side, it's Scot and English. Her mother was adopted by a family of German Jewish roots, but we are not sure of her biological heritage.
Morning! I was just thinking we hadn't had a good morning post in a while. This morning DD and I traipsed through half the city looking for an umbrella stroller with no luck. DH and I didn't really think through that aspect of this trip we have coming up until yesterday, so it's too late to order something online. It's not a big deal, but it would be convenient to have something other than the carrier to have her in.
QOTD: I am almost 1/2 German, 1/4 Swedish, and a bit more than 1/4 English/Scottish/Irish (my mom is about 1/8 English and the rest is German, and my dad is 1/2 Swedish and 1/2 a mixture of unknown proportions of English/Scottish/Irish).
Morning! Just hanging out at home and resting. Trying to beat this lovely cold I caught from DD. Joy. Made a swiss chard pie for lunch and I?m thinking about going back to bed, again. Colds suck.
QOTD: yes, I have some Irish blood. Not much, but my great, great grandmother was scotts irish. The rest is German and English. But mostly English.
Thursday is done and dusted for me, but it's a nasty rainy day, so I made Lions Head soup for dinner. I've even already worked out!
QOTD: I am Italian and a smidge of French Canadian (really Nova Scotia, which we're finding out is Scottish and not French, but ...) because of my name, everyone assumes I'm Irish. When you do those genealogy things, my maiden name comes up as Irish, so I guess after one of the raids, a member of the Celtic hordes stayed in Italy? ;-)
Hi Ladies!
Went for a nice run this morning, then cleaned the house. I had interview this week to work at the film festival, wish me luck!
QOTD: I'm 1/2 Irish and 1/2 French Canadian.
I wanted to host a St Patrick's Day party on Saturday, but another friend is housitting for his parents and will have the party there. Works well for me as there is less effort on my part and his parent's house is awesome.
Working at the library and then class tonight until 7pm. But it's my last class for the year! Woohoo! Now all that's left is just that tiny little detail of a proposal and dissertation to write. Easy, right?
QOTD: My dad is Irish, English, and German. Mom is all Italian-American (3rd generation). DH always says he would never have accepted marrying a woman less with less than 50% Italian blood.
Anyway, we won't be celebrating St. Patty's day except probably a phone call from MIL because it's DH's namesake day.
Good morning ladies! Happy Thursday. On the gym scale this morning I was not happy with what I saw, so I need to get my butt in gear. I've been lifting weights, so maybe I'm gaining muscle weight, but I really don't think sp. Work then home to chat with BF today.
QOTD: I'm half (my dad's side). Sadly I'll be working on St Paddy's Day.
Morning/afternoon!
I have no work today, so I'm just doing some errands and admin work for work. Then I'm meeting up with my tandem partner. I also would like to bake some cupcakes- vanilla bean with strawberry frosting!
I'm not Irish. I'm American with 50% Polish background and 50% Italian background. I don't really celebrate St. Patrick's day, but if someone says let's go out for a beer to an Irish pub, I'll go. When I lived in the US, I went out every St. Pat's day. Any reason to drink Guiness! Now, it isn't so popular here. Oh well.
Morning! I have class today so I'll be dashing out of the house soon. Then I'm going to attend my friend's art exhibit.
QOTD - I'm Italian. My mom's side of the family has been Roman for generations while my dad's side is a mix of eastern and northern Italy and some Parisian background. So, no Ireland on the radar and we don't celebrate St. Patrick's.
Morning! Busy day at work but at least it's finally the weekend for us! Tonight, I'm heading to a trivia tournament at the university, and DH is a team captain. Should be interesting :-P
Just hoping to relax after that and enjoy a quiet evening at home!
QOTD: No clue, due to my mom's mom being adopted. I believe we are somewhat Irish in our heritage, but just not sure how much. DH is Irish/Scottish in heritage, and we'll definitely be celebrating on Saturday with some Guinness stew, brown bread and Guinness cupcakes :-) And we'll watch Darby O'Gill and The Little People! :-P

My Doha Adventures
I'm about to crawl back in bed. I'm exhausted. I had a bad stomach bug yesterday and couldn't hold down any food for almost 24 hours. I'm better today, but have zero energy.
QOTD: I know that my great-grandfather immigrated from Scotland and I think somewhere on my grandmother's side is some Irish and German. I apparently have some native american (which has been completely bred out of me, judging by my looks lol) More or less, I'm a mutt
I'm exhausted today. Way too much work this week, and the few hours I could have slept I didn't because I kept going over in my head all the work I still had to get done. All I want to do is crawl in bed but I feel bad doing that when my cleaning lady is here because I'm scared she'd think "if you can sleep, you can clean your own damn house!"...
QOTD: No Irish here. Almost all French, just a tiny bit of Swiss on my maternal grandmother's side.
