Sibil-possibly a dumb question

do people in Hawaii really wear hawaiian shirts to business meetings?

DH says he needs some for his meetings next week.

Re: Sibil-possibly a dumb question

  • This is not the question I was expecting!

People wear aloha shirts (not Hawaiian shirts :) to pretty much everything.  They were at a fairly formal fundraiser event I went to recently.  They were also the dress code for our Christmas party.  Yes, aloha shirts with a suit.

But, I can't speak for a business meeting from experience.  H wears a uniform, so he's no help, either.  In general, business wear is very casual, and aloha wear is perfectly acceptable in almost every environment on every day. I'll ask a couple people I'm meeting up with today who would know better.  It would help to know what kind of work he does if it's more conservative than norm.
