What would you do (besides cry and stomp your feet, 'cause I already did that) if you found yourself stuck in Miami for 8 hours? Is there enough time to go anywhere? If so, where?

Re: 8 hour layover in Miami!
Not sure what time you come in versus leave, but traffic in the area of the airport can be pretty sucky.
You could look at taking a cab down to Bayside Marketplace, which is pretty touristy but has shopping and restaurants. I'd just avoid trying to leave that area after around 3ish.
Thanks for the suggestions!

I would....
- pay up to $100 each to standby for an earlier flight if it left within two hours of my incoming flight
- relax in the lounge (pay if I didn't have free access)
- try to rent a hotel room for half a day (by the airport) to sleep
I almost had this problem... at LAX. I was going to have a 12-hr layover when I booked my award flight (AKL-LAX-DFW), but I used expertflyer to track award seats and when seats opened up, I grabbed them asap and reduced my layover to 3 hours.
