Help with very
tarnished silver teapot.
It was my great grandmother's, now passed down to me. My mother's elderly cousin had it for 30 odd years and never polished it at alll.
I got some tarnish off on Sunday with ordinary silver polish. Most of the teapot is engraved with shamrocks (it was a wedding gift from a friend in Ireland) and they could prove difficult.
Should I have this done professionally? There is an excellent silver restoration store in midtown but I want to try myself first, if possible.
Any suggestions?

I've not tried, but heard good things about, using hot water and baking soda and aluminum foil.

silver tarnish aluminum foil
lots will show up...
