I lost a student (not death! sorry!)

I have ISS lunch duty, which means that I take the kids who are in in-school suspension to lunch. I have to walk them up to the cafe, and they can't leave. If they have to go to the lav/locker/guidance, we all have to go as a group.

The reason is that students will take advantage of it and not come back.

A few weeks ago, I took a student (he was the only one in ISS that day) and they warned me..."he ran out yesterday." Ok, no big deal, I kept extra watch on him, and he was fine. I was under the impression that it was some big deal where he just started running.

Today, I had 5 students in ISS, one of the students was this kid. We're almost to the cafe, when another students asks me if she can go to guidance. I told her that she had to wait until after, and it wasn't because I didn't trust her, but because sometimes students just leave. I seriously turn back around, and I only have 4 students.

The damn kid literally disapeared. The greeter at the door didn't see anyone leave to go outside, and I looked down two long hallways. No one.

Luckily, the asst. principal dealt with it, and his reaction was "ohhhh yeah, this is what he does."

The best part is that 10 minutes later, I said something to the other kids about it, and they had NO CLUE he was gone.
