I am not telling people IRL our baby names, so I need someone to help me with our baby girl name! (Kari - You'll just have to pretend you don't know the names when you meet Ian ;-) )
We have our boy name: Landon William (I would have gone a different direction, but I lost the battle on pretty much the entire boy name.)
For a girl, we have Ava for the first name. I'm stuck on the middle name. Since the boy middle name is family based from Ian's side, I want to make the girl one family based from my side, but most of the female names from my side that I would even consider using...just don't work with Ava (Susan, Joan, Jean) I'm down to Marie (my middle name) or May (my grandmother's middle name). I was set on Ava Marie, but then started thinking people might say Ave Maria. Am I overthinking this?
What do you think: Marie or May? or skip the family name and pick something different?
Re: Baby girl name opinion..
Are you going to use the middle name on a daily basis? At school and stuff? If not, I think you're over-thinking it.
I like either.

This was my thought too, if you aren't going to be using the middle name all the time, it's not a big deal.
I do love Ava May, but I think Ava Maria works too.
Yep, you're overthinking it
But that's kind of what parenting is...
I like Ava Marie and I don't think people would call her Ava Maria, and if they do, well, that's not her name.
Berrit is Marie also-which is my middle, my mom's, both grandmothers, etc... We have two kids that get called "Xander" and "Barret" and I just say "Whoops, it's actually Anders/Berrit" with a smile. People don't mean to get their names wrong, they just hear something other than what I say or read something other than what is written down (which I don't get...but okay....)
Good luck with naming-it's a total PITA!
I like Ava May personally.
I know a Aivalynn, who is called Ava, and I have no idea what her middle name is.

MY BLOG
William born 7/12/2000
Andrew born 10/30/2011 (9lb 4oz at 37 weeks)
Our last name is longer, so it will definitely be balanced out either way.
They both work... I like Ava May but Ava Marie works as well...
When you see it written out it kind of looks like Ave Maria but it doesnt SOUND like it when its spoken.
Thanks! I do too! Even though I've always wanted a boy first, I'm secretly hoping for a girl because I want to use that name so badly! lol ;-)
