Changes to Online Application / Cover Letter

2 days ago I applied for a position via a company's online application system.  I uploaded a resume and cover letter as "attachments."  As I was driving home last night, I remembered a few projects / cases that I worked on years ago that would be relevant to the posted job.  I'm tempted to delete my cover letter and / or resume and re-load a revised version referencing the relevant experience.  What do you think about that?  I'm a little nervous that HR will receive a notification that I deleted and re-submitted and will think I'm a flake.

Re: Changes to Online Application / Cover Letter

  • You could call HR and see if they can allow you back into your application to edit. I had to do that once and I just interviewed for the position, so I guess they didn't count against me.

  • As PP stated, you can call and ask. Depending on how their system works, they may have already processed your application and deleting it and making changes may either go unnoticed or may mess up your chances of getting an interview if it gets lost in their system.
