So I haven't been around too much lately. Things have been crazy hectic in my life these days.
My dad had his surgery 2 weeks ago. It was fairly complicated and took over 7 hours. He was healing pretty well and as of Monday morning the doctor wanted him out of work for another month while he continued to heal. Tuesday he had a hard time breathing so he was readmitted Tuesday night. He is still there while they try to figure it all out. They think he has a large fluid buildup, including around his lungs. The positive is that his trachea is holding up well and is healing how it should.
Miss Maggie had her tubes put in a month ago. Her speech improved within days. It is amazing to see how much she is talking now. The doctor said what they drained was like rubber cement. He said it was like she was hearing under water. Her adenoids were chronically infected as well. The treatment was a 3 week dose of heavy antibiotics. Well we started them, got 11 days in and Mags started having awful awful diarrhea and she even threw up all over the grocery store (awesome!). So they had to stop that. 3 days later the awful congestion came back. She has constant snots and a nice cough that sometimes keeps her up at night. Today we had our follow up with the ENT. The plan is to have surgery to remove the adenoids. The doctor doesn't think she can withstand the heavy long dose of antibiotics b/c she doesn't have the stomach for it. We call tomorrow to schedule.
It is busy season at work, so that is just keeping me even more busy. I hope everyone is doing well! ![]()
Re: A little bit of an update
Lots of T&P to you and your family. I really hope your dad and Maggie get well soon. I'm sure it's adorable hearing her talk more....
I've been missing you. I know how it goes with busy season, my Dad is an accountant.
I'm so happy to hear that Maggie is doing better and they have a plan for her. I hope your dad makes a full recovery very soon. You have been incredibly strong through this all. Lots of T&P's still coming your way.
Wow... they drained a consistency of rubber cement?!?! That's crazy! Poor baby... so glad you guys got that taken care of early on... I'm so glad that part got taken care of. Lots of vibes and prayer for that. I'm also glad your dad's initial surgery went well and hoping they get to the bottom of this recent complication.
Many thoughts and hugs for you sweetie!
