Hi! I saw that you responded to the post that I made the other night about clean eating and thanking those that introduced me to it. I know you were asking about tips on eating better so here you go. :-)
1. I make out a menu plan for dinner for the whole week. I make a list of all the ingrediants that I need so I'm not buying "extra" stuff at the farmers market or grocery store. This also keeps our grocery bill low. I mainly use the eat clean website and www.thegraciouspantry.com for recipes.
2. I always make extra dinner so that my hubby and I have enough for lunch the next day and I don't have to worry about making a seperate meal for lunch. I get our lunches together the night before so it makes it easier in the morning for the both of us.
3. I buy fruits every week that I love eating (I could seriously eat the heck out of fruit).
4. I try to include veggies in just about every meal minus breakfast and my 1st snack (for some reason my stomach can't handle veggies well first thing in the morning).
5. I carry around two cups of ice for my water. I highly recommend the expensive cups that Bed Bath & Beyond sells that are sweat proof. They keep your water cold forever!!!
6. I pack a large lunchkit full of clean foods and extra stuff just in case I get caught at work.
7. I also precut fruits and veggies when I bring them home from the farmers market or grocery store. I find if I do this it makes life so much easier when it's time to eat or cook.
8. I've taken all the junk out of the house so that I'm not tempted to eat it. If I eat something that isn't clean then I have to spend the money on it and it makes me kind of think twice about it. I will say it's hard with my job because there's always junk around (I'm a teacher).
9. I'm trying to tell my family and friends the way that I'm eating. I kind of feel like it's a full warning that hey I might not eat this and that you might be cooking or where you want to go out to eat might not be ok with the goals that I have in mind. Of course I'm not rude about it but so far everyone has understood. Some of them have even been willing to try out places that I can eat which is exciting.
10. I've set up times in my brain to eat which is around every 2 1/2-3 hours.
I hope all of this has helped! Let me know if you have any questions. :-)
