How do you cook your corned beef?
I just do it in the crock pot with the seasoning pack, but a coworker told me she uses beer. Anyone do this? Any other variations?

MMMMMMM... corned beeeef!! Yummy
Hmmm... it has a semi similar flavor to pastrami in my opinion. I'm not exactly sure how it's made but it's super yummy.... often served with cabbage... very traditional Irish dish. Yummy

I always do mine in the crockpot, just water and the spice packet.
Apple cider/juice is supposed to work well too (maybe sans spice packet? I don't remember) but I've always had it w/ just water so that's the way I like it best.

It's only my favorite meal ever! I don't think it is just a NE thing, but either way it is so yummy. We do ours in a crockput. I think my mom may add beer.

I'm starting to think that once I get this whole gall bladder thing behind me I'll have to try it sometime just so I know what the hype is all about!

I honestly don't know anyone that makes it here. I asked my mom about it and she made it once for my step dad who's from Iowa, but there was defiantly no cabbage. Ive tried corned beef but I hated it. But if crystal is right it makes sense because I don't like salami either.
All that being said, my best friend married and Irish man and his parents make it lol
