So after my disastrous experience with Ryan Air earlier this month, I'm a little afraid of all cheap airlines. Nonetheless, I am booked on Easy Jet to Madrid tomorrow. Does anyone know if I have to print my boarding passes before hand (like Ryan Air)? The Easy Jet site isn't recognizing me because I booked the trip through another web site and I am in high stress mode that I can't check in online. Help!
Re: Easy Jet
I highly recommend you print your boarding pass before you arrive at the airport. It will speed things up quite a bit (there can be crazy queues in the airport if you have to check in at the desk), and if you have hold baggage there is usually a separate queue to drop off your bags if you've already printed your boarding pass.
Easy Jet isn't as bad as Ryan Air, and I've flown on them quite a bit over the last 6 months with no issues. It's no-frills, but most of the airplanes are newer and not overly shabby, and the crews are normally pretty nice.
I agree, easyJet is way better than RA. Print out your boarding card if you can!
What site did you book your ticket through? I didn't realize that was an option with the cheapie airlines.
If you can't print your boarding pass, I would get there at least two hours early. They do, in my experience, regulate the queues based on the nearest flights, but that's still very stressful and not guaranteed.
Easyjet ran a campaign last year about how they don't charge fees if you don't bring your boarding pass (the 'we don't suck as much as RyanAir' campaign, as I like to think of it).
But they are right--it's not as bad. Yes, you still need to put everything in a single bag. And yes, your purse is a second bag, so it needs to go in too. But otherwise, it's far nicer, and they don't play the obnoxious music at the end. Thank goodness.
