A month or two or three ago, someone posted on here about favorite programs and apps for learning basic foreign language skills prior to traveling abroad. I had intended to bookmark that post, but apparently I didn't, and now I can't find it.
So, does anyone have that link?
Or, can you recommend your favorite apps/programs/software?
Thanks!
Re: Language apps
Right now I'm using Rosetta Stone Totale for Spanish. It's pretty good and they now have a mobile app (free, but only if you already have a subscription to Totale) and it's pretty good. However, I'm trying to learn Spanish to learn it, not just cram before traveling. I don't really recommend Rosetta Stone for cramming. I tried that with Italian a few years ago and it was a waste of money.
Previously before trips, I've downloaded podcasts to my iPod and they seemed to be decent for just getting by in another language.
