Christian Louboutins (first post)

Hello everyone! I've finally decided to stop lurking and actually register.

So, to my question..... are Louboutins worth it? I've been drooling over the new patent leather pumps, but haven't gotten a chance to stop by a decent store. Does sizing run true?

Re: Christian Louboutins (first post)

  • Hello and welcome.  Generally, CLs run small.  I highly recommend shopping for them in-store so you can try them on.  Some styles can be very uncomfortable, but it all depends on the style and your feet.  If you find the right pair, they are a great shoe to have!
  • Thanks for the reply. I'm going to try to get to Neiman Marcus this weekend.

I'll have to see how they look/feel in person.....I'd like to wear these at the office, if appropriate.

  • I dont think they are worth it (for me). I have a pair of the simple pumps and I like the look, however they are very uncomfortable compared to my new faves and less expensive L.K. Bennett pumps.

Which LKB pumps did you get, rjbh?

OP--I have no CL's but I hope to one day.

    This.

Some of them pinch the crap outta my toes. However the ones I actually own are quite comfortable (well, comfortable for being 120s).

  • I think they are.  They are beautiful and of excellent quality.  The sizing depends on the particular style of shoe you go with.  I have pairs that fit TTS and others that I ordered half a size up.

  • I have a pair of Ron Rons and they are ungodly uncomfortable. I wish I had never purchased them as there are so many other cute shoes at that price point that are more comfortable. I never wear them.

The Ron Rons run small. In Italian/European shoes, I tend to wear a 40 since they all seem to run small (I'm a 9-9.5 in US). My Ron Rons are a 40 and are still too small.

The toebox on this particular shoe is very short. So when you look at my feet, you can see that my toes are all smooshed into the toe area - there is tons of toe cleavage and it is not attractive. I could almost get past the pain of wearing them if it didn't look so stupid.

  • I have never tried them. I went to my neimens to try them on and the sales lady said she had nothing in my size (7.5us) to even try and that they vary so much by style it would be impossible to fit me.

I agree, these have a short toe box and didn't fit me at all. I wear a size 7 closed-toe shoe and tried on the Ron Rons in 3 sizes (including up to 38.5) and they were still too short. I had the same issue with Rolandos and sold those on eBay. I have the Decolletes now and they fit much better. The box is a tad longer and tapered.
