I should really put my phone in the car.

I had a big job interview yesterday.  I think it went really, really well and am hoping I get a phone call.  I should know today or Monday.  So naturally, I keep checking every 5 minutes to make sure I didn't miss anything.  Even though it's sitting right in freaking front of me.

Distract me please!

I get to see my parents this weekend.  My cousin is getting married, and we're going home for the wedding.  Fun!

  • Good luck!!

What are you wearing to the wedding?

  • Thank you!  Hopefully everything works out.

I am planning to wear a scarlet red dress.  It's tea length, and I really like it.  The issue is, I didn't realize until last night that the wedding is at 2.  The dress is absolutely appropriate for an evening wedding, but I'm thinking I will be overdressed for an early afternoon wedding.

ETA:  It's extremely similar to this dress.

Meh...rock it anyway.  Do you have some neutral accessories you can make it more afternoon friendly?

I've always worn my pearls with it?  Something more subdued you think?

That's what I'm thinking.  I think the fabric/drape of it will allow you to dress it down a smidge (if it's like the one in the photo).  Besides, always better to be overdressed than under!

  • How exciting about the interview! Hope you hear from them soon.

Sounds like you do have a fabulous weekend ahead of you; if you have nude colored pumps that is what I would wear with the dress. Simple pearls should be fine.

  • I'd steer towards gold or silver jewelry, more along "date night" level of formality, rather than pearls.

    I don't accessorize much though.

Okay, I could definitely do that then.  I had this moment of paranoia when I realized it was for a different time of day than I had originally planned.

Fair point about being overdressed as opposed to under.

  • Do you have nude shoes/handbag.  That would dress it down.

I like pearls but a necklace may be too much.  Maybe just earrings or a bracelet (if you have one)?

    I like Chloe's suggestion of nude heels/bag.

Are you wearing your hair up or back? You can stick a fake white/cream flower in it...that would also be more daytime friendly.
