Anyone planning for the AthensGAHalf?
If you've done it in the past 2 years, what do you think of the new course?
I'm really not too happy about it but will still be running it. I feel that they took the challenge out of it for me (I know it's not all about me). That, and ending in Sanford Stadium just doesn't have the charm for me that it will others. I used to gallivant on the field all the time because of my old job.

I've run it the past two years. I haven't looked at the new course yet. I won't be running it this year since I'm due in Sept. I just finished coordinating a 5k/10k for my daughter's school with the help of Carole Black from Classic Race Services. She told me that the people from Athfest contacted her to see if she could help rework the course for this year. It really has been awful the past two years. The start was decent, and the middle was ok, but the last 4 or 5 miles sucked both years. I know they like having it finish downtown, but it's hard to do that without making runners climb major hills in the last few miles. I was on track at the last one to PR, but the last mile and half killed my time. I went from running sub-10 miles to almost walking the entire last mile. I was on pace to finish under 2:10 and fell off badly with the last mile being so much uphill.
Anyway, I'll go look at the course now!

I know! I'm going to miss it, but we're moving much closer to family and to another college town, so hopefully I'll love it as much as I do Athens!
