If you use Retin-A for acne, what cleanser do you use?
I've been using retin cream for the last two months and it's made my acne completely disappear. I really wish I started on this regimen years and years ago. Anyways, I'm almost done with my Dermalogica cleanser and I would like to switch it up. What daily cleanser works best with retin cream?
Re: If you use Retin-A for acne, what cleanser do you use?
Most dermatologists recommend using a gentle cleanser with simple ingredients while on Retin-A since it's very drying to the skin and treats acne anyway. Some brands my derm. suggested are Cetaphil, CeraVe, and Purpose. A lot of people on this board use Aveeno too.
Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide might be too harsh when combined with Retin-A. From your OP it sounds like your acne is gone (which is awesome!) so the Retin-A is probably working for you, but if you're concerned about using a stronger cleanser too then maybe ask your derm. first just to be sure.
I use Aveeno foaming face wash with Salicylic acid, but I only use Retin-A every 2-3 days... more then that and I'd probably have to use something more gentle.
My derm. recommended CeraVe moisturizers and cleansers. While I love the PM moisturizer, I just didn't like the cleanser.
