New York, New York hotel in Vegas

Has anyone stayed here? Would you recommend it?

Re: New York, New York hotel in Vegas

  • Yah I stayed there three years ago...there is nothing wrong with it, rooms are nice etc but it is farther south on the strip (ie closer to the airport) so lots of walking happens to get to like the fashion show mall, other hotels etc.  But in general Vegas involves lots of walking!!  If you found a good deal, I'd stay there.
  • Remember to factor in resort fees if comparing prices.  Ditto pp, you'll be doing a lot of walking in vegas, moreso if it's your first time because you'll want to see everything.  If you have a convention to go to, stay near the convention, otherwise, NYNY is a good mid-range strip hotel.
  • We just stayed there last weekend.  Just an FYI, the pool is under renovation at the NYNY.  Loved the casino atmosphere and the dealers are great.  The rooms are okay and like pp said, it's south on the strip, but in Vegas you do a ton of walking.

  • It's more geared towards families, and the pool sucks.  There are better options for similarly priced hotels IMO - Mirage, Treasure Island, Flamingo (GO rooms), and the newly reno'd Tropicana.

It does however have a pretty sweet piano bar which we had a lot of fun at, and the location is decent.

  • Like others have said, there is nothing wrong with it.  The location is not awesome, and the rooms are small.  I'd look at the Mirage if you are willing to spend just a little more.

  • I've never stayed at NYNY (thought the Coaster is fun!).  We went last weekend and stayed at Caesar's and LOVED it!  We got a great deal and the location was perfect for us.

  • I've never stayed, but I've heard if you end up with a room near the coaster track (because it goes outside) it can be loud.

  • It's fine.  To me, most of the strip hotels are pretty much all the same.  You don't spend much time in your room anyway.

  • Thanks for the info. I got an email that they are offering rooms for $38/night in May for when we wanted to go to Las Vegas anyway.
