Re: Anyone want to revisit this beautiful thread???

  • Look at all those people who no longer post! Makes me sad.
  • I think I missed that thread the first time around. It does make you realize how many girls aren't around anymore.

  • Talk about a throwback!

Not sure if I wasn't around at that time or if I just didn't participate in that post. I don't remember, since there was a time where I was on a small hiatus... But I think it was more Knot days.

  • I think this was right when I started lurking and posting very occasionally b/c I remember the snissing and snarting.

  • Oh heck no. The entire thread turned my stomach the first time.. I'm not about to relive that!

Small confession.. pregnancy and birth both freak me out and gross me out. That was my hardest thing to try to deal with when I was pregnant.

  • Seeing some of those SNs for girls that don't visit anymore was sad.

The thing that didn't get mentioned there but I THINK was mentioned in the original post on MM was about the pushing on the stomach after delivery to make sure your uterus is shrinking back down.  All the nurses checked, but the nursing student was the worst for me.  I'd say she was the one female who had not been pregnant, and therefore had no clue how that felt.  I wanted to throw her out every time she came in my room.

LOL!  There is so much that will happen between now and then you don't need to worry about this.

  • Fact: I didn't read this post originally or now. I just looked through the names. Looks like the mysteries of being pregnant and whatever drama came up will be unknown to me still.
  • It is sad that so many don't come on anymore :(

Maybe it was because I had Ava at 7p and didn't get to my room until oh about 10ish and she let me have liquids (soup juice etc) around midnight and so by the time breakfast time rolled around I was able to order real food without her telling me to fart??

I had a spinal I believe and I know I've talked about this before but I was not prepared for the crunch in the back when they give it and then he pushes on the back to start the medicine going in the correct places...it literally crunched haha

And the biggest thing I did not know about a c-section was that you still bleed for weeks after just like a vaginal delivery...don't ask me why I didn't think that would happen...maybe I figured most would be cleaned out while in surgery.

oh the pushing on the stomach agh!  And of course one of the first times they had an intern so the nurse did it then the intern did it but the intern was very careful and the nurse asked me if it was ok if she pushed harder...it definitely hurt bad but I said sure because she wasn't pushing hard enough and I wanted her to learn and so she did and she's like oohhh I feel it haha and then apologized a ton.

Also if you have your child on a Thursday expect a different set of day/night nurses on the weekend Fri-Sun...which sucks because I loved my night nurse that thursday and hated the one I had fri and sat night.

Two of the worst parts for me.
