PIP: Longchamp Le Pliage?

I'm interested in getting one of these bags to carry to and from class on the bus. Do you ladies like the bag or is it hideous? What colour do you think I should get? It would have the long handles, by the way. Some of the pictures show the small version.

Also, do you think I should get my initials (RLK) embossed in gold on the leather? I'm debating whether that's too preppy! lol

I don't think they're hideous. They're functional. I have a few and use them as beach/pool bags. I also used them a lot when my son was younger and I had to haul around extra stuff for him. I use my chocolate one the most, but I prefer the taupe.

I have the navy one and use it as a work bag every day. It's the perfect size, fits my laptop, nook, makeup bag, wristlet, water bottle and lunch bag. Seriously it fits everything! Very easy to care for as well, just wipe off with a wet paper towel. I love it, considering getting another color.

I have the taupe, I like the darker color as it doesn't get dirty as much, although I wash mine in the washing machine and air dry. They are very funcational and durable.

They're nice for a tote bag. They have no structure inside except a small pocket by the zipper, so they work well to throw other stuff in but not as a purse. I don't like having stuff loose in mine. It's easy to clean and cute, I think. The letters are in the spirit of the bag.

I have the Longchamp "Planetes" bag and like it better than the "Le Pilage". I find it to be more durable and love the all black color. I am not a fan of the brown handles on the others. I use mine everyday to carry my laptop, gym clothes, lunch, heels, etc on the metro to work. My bag is very heavy most days and I have never had an issue; it holds up very well.

I have a couple of them and I love them (I've got black, red, and navy.) I like the darker colors, as they don't get too dirty. I would get black with the brown handles - I feel like you could wear that with basically everything. Then, if you want another, I'd probably opt for brown or navy.

I have the red one and I love it. I use it for school or for work. I'm not a purse person at all but this works for me.

I have the navy and love it. I bought it for a vacation and loved the functionality and the space so much I want more but can't decide which other color.

Great bag for travel and as I'm now learning work. Wish I had one in college and grad school. In grad school I didn't think it would hold as much and be functional and I was wrong.

Another thumbs up as a work/travel bag. I have the Graphite, and it is really a grayer version of navy that goes with more things, IMO.

I want a planetes bag when I get a new job. It is more professional looking IMO and bigger...pilage would be better for more casual use, in my case

I have a black one that I use to commute to work on the train, and carry my son's stuff around on weekends. It's great! I like the darker colors best...black or navy.
