New runner- how to determine how long (distance) you've run?

I am just starting running. I have the C25k app on my phone and listen to muci while I run. Are there any apps (or even a gaget) that will let me know how long (distance-wise) I've run?

Re: New runner- how to determine how long (distance) you've run?

  • The C25K app should be able to tell you how far you've run. I have the ease into 5K program (Which used to be C25K) and if you click on the journal button and then on the day that you ran it'll tell you the distance you ran and the average pace per mile.

  • yes, i have a pedometer watch that tracks my distance.

    i also use mapmyrun.com

    good luck!

  • My husband uses My Tracks on his phone.  It works well for him, but for some reason not so well on mine.  I use mapmyrun.com to figure out my route before I run, or if I make it up as I go along I'll map it afterwards.
  • Nikeplus (app and online)
  • I use the Nike+GPS ap on my iPhone.
  • Before I got my Garmin, I used Runtastic and LOVE it! To be honest, it does everything my Garmin 110 does

  • I use the RunDouble C25K app + GPS on my phone (Droid 2)
  • I google mapped the distance from the corner of my street to the next corner. It's 1.3 km, then I drove it to double check.

With that, I'm able to do a pretty good estimate of my distance.

But in all honesty, I'm such a beginner that knowing if I ran 3km or 3.2 is not a biggie. When I need more accuracy, I'll look into an app or something else.

  • I use the nikeplus app on my ipod touch.

I used to just keep track of  landmarks on the road and then used mapmyrun.com to trace the route when I was done.

Nevermind me, I'm too distracted by my mini-carrots to think properly image
