Planned Parenthood was a circus today

Tons of protestors, including about 25 teenagers who came on buses from their school.  They were calling out in chorus, "Your baby will be beautiful!  He has your eyes!  Your laugh!"  They were also yelling "Planned Parenthood lies to you," "You have options," "This is a mistake you can't fix-- don't make the wrong choice," "We're praying for you," and "We're here to help, not judge!"  Hmm  lol at a group of teenage girls giving life advice to adult women.

The patients were pretty shaken up by the numbers and the volume, and their boyfriends/husbands/moms were furious.  The boyfriend of one patient who was leaving (and it was pretty clear she was physically uncomfortable-- a little hunched and kind of limping) asked if there was an alternate exit away from them because she couldn't take them again.  Sad

They even yelled at a really young teenager waiting in her mom's car  while the mom was going in to pick up a prescription for something.  Klassy.

I want to again thank Jermy's girl and Sibil for pointing me in this direction.   These   patients / families really needed a friendly face today.

  • Boo to the protestors. Yeah to you! I wish that these folks who feel so strongly about these other options would spend their time making that happen, rather than bullying people, but free country, yadda yadda yadda...it's just a good thing that people like you are around to ease the discomfort as much as possible.
  • That makes me so angry. I'm really glad that you are volunteering, Heather.
  • I really wonder if the protester think their bullying actually does any good, or they just feel better about themselves for trying to make other people feel like crap.  A$$sholes.

I really admire you for volunteering.  Good for you!

  • Just wanted to say that you're a fantastic person for volunteering, and I'm so glad there are people like you helping out! I feel terrible for the women/families that have to listen to those protesters. What a disgusting display.

  • That's so infuriating. You're doing such a great thing by volunteering.

  • DOn't these asshats know that PP does much, much more than perfrorm abortions? This infuriates me that teenagers were giving advice to women who clearly knew what they were doing. And shit_, they could have been going in to get a friggin' pap smear.
