Hi there
I came over to hang out with you guys a couple months ago when I had a long layover in Frankfurt on my way to the UAE and now I'm actually *planning* a layover! H and I decided to go to Greece in May and then made the crazy decision to take a day layover in London. We get in at noon and leave the next morning.
So my question is: what would you do with one day in London? I have been once a long time ago and H has never been. My first thought was to do the tour of the Tower of London. Also, we'd kind of like to do afternoon tea somewhere, suggestions? thanks ladies
Re: London!
Hi there. I lived in London for a couple of years though I don't now.
I have done the tour of the Tower and if you only have one day then I'd give it a miss - it takes too long to allow time for other things (we spent most of a day there).
I used to being people for a walk from Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Horseguards Parade, the Mall, Buckingham Palace, Green Park...
Another option would be one of the tour buses.
How about a west end musical in the evening?
Afternoon Tea suggestions - Fortnum & Mason or The Ritz are well famous but both get booked up months in advance (prob not much chance of the Ritz in May!) and both are on Piccadilly.
Others living there now will prob have better suggestions!!
thank you!
also I have another question, where would be a good place to buy a tea cup (made in England) to add to my collection?

I've been for tea several times at the Dorchester...it's lovely and the tea is quite filling!
I would go to Fortnum and Mason to buy a tea cup.
For one day in London, I like this "tour" from Frommers. Or I'd do a London Walk (one of my favorite things to do in London and I try to do a few a year).
