Do any of the "skin correctors" really work?

I've used up an entire bottle of clinique's and didnt really notice much improvement. I have fair skin with some acne scarring that I would love to get rid of or at least minimize. Has anyone had any luck with any of them? It seems like every skincare compnay makes one now, I don't even know where to start. Thoughts? Thanks!

  • I haven't tried any OTC products, but Retin-A is great for this if you're not opposed to an Rx.  My derm put me on it last year and the hyperpigmentation spots from my acne have almost completely faded.  My skin tone is much more even now.  It helps prevent more acne and fine lines too which is a major plus.

  • I don't think any OTC daily cosmetic cream is going to help with acne scars.  I would get a prescription for Retin-A and also try TCA chemical peels, which can be done at home.  I haven't done a TCA peel yet because I haven't been brave enough to peel for several days, but I've read a lot about them and they can be great for evening out the skin.  If Retin-A and chemical peels don't do enough, you may need a laser treatment.
