how was everyone's weekend?

So did everyone have a good St. Patrick's Day weekend?

We had a very laid back weekend down here. Yesterday we went shopping at the outlet mall and I got two pair of great dress pants and two dress shirts from Banana Republic and J. Crew. I also bought a blazer from J. Crew but they didn't have my size so it had to be shipped to me from another store. Came home and made a yummy dinner and watched a movie. We didn't venture out for St. Patrick's Day this year since I can't drink while my health issues are being resolved.

Today I dusted, cleaned the bathrooms and kitchen, and did two loads of laundry while H was at his soccer game in ATL, when he came home we weeded the flower beds (again, it never ends!), he cleaned the ceiling fans and I vacuumed and scrubbed the floors. We had barbecue for dinner and just sat down to watch some TV (season finale of the Walking Dead, anyone?) before the week starts tomorrow.

    It was awesome!

I was off Friday, so I did my longest run EVER - 8.5 miles! 8.5 slow, painful miles! I spent the rest of the day recovering.

Saturday we left the house early to drive 3 hours to H's cousin's wedding. The ceremony and reception were in the same hotel we stayed at - SCORE! It was an AWESOME time. They had super cute St. Patty's day touches but nothing over the top - beads and headbands to wear, some green beer, the bride had green nails and shoes - super adorable. We drank a lot (at an Irish wedding on St. Patrick's day? You're shocked, right??), and at one point the father of the bride (H's uncle) asked us if we wanted a shot of Crown Royal - and I said yes. That's right about where things went downhill for me! I ended going up to the room and passing out before the last song, which is a bummer. But still, we had an awesome time dancing and talking!

Today we drove home (stopping at Culver's for shakes since we don't have one near us!) and have been lounging around and hydrating. My liver is mad at me from yesterday, and my hips and knees are mad from Friday. Hopefully we'll all be getting along tomorrow.

Musgral, I saw the first few Walking Dead episodes but haven't remembered to tune in since! Would I be missing too much if I tuned in at this point?

  • FANTASTIC!!!

We took a long weekend up to Canberra to see a friend before they move back to the States.  That was great.  I have missed being with people who know and understand things without explanation.  We had a great dinner that lasted over four hours!

While we were in Canberra, we took the opportunity to play tourist and saw a the Handwritten exhibit -- ten centuries of manuscript treasures including letters from Michaelangelo, Galileo, Newton, Marie Curie, one of Louis Braille's first Braille letters, and Beethoven's draft of his Fifth Symphony.

We also toured Australia's Federal Parliament House, where, among other Australian treasures, we saw one of the surviving 1297 issue original Magna Carta.

To top off the great weekend, we actually found good Mexican food (a rarity in Australia), took shelter from the rain in a bookstore and left five books richer, and we finished up with at the Krispy Kreme for fresh hot doughnuts.

Now it's back to real life and a job search...

  • Dorothy that Handwritten exhibit sounds amazing!

My weekend was laid back :) H had a surprise Friday off so I was super excited about that. We went down to Syracuse and finished all the baby shopping! (Side note: I cannot believe we now have everything we will need for LO. OMG)

Saturday my mom left :( but the day was really nice so H and I spent most of it outside. We also bought a new bed YAY!

Sunday I did nothing. Literally sat around and watched Army Wives.

Ha, my H would say YES, you need to watch them all and catch up!! I half-watch each episode because I'm usually on my computer at the same time. I think a lot has happened that may be confusing if you tune in now, but you don't need to watch each and every episode and pay full attention to it.

  • This weekend was really nice.

Friday we went to BIL's for his birthday. We had cake and ice cream, and jsut hung out with DH's siblings. So nice.

Saturday we went to the DMV because I lost my license, then we went out for breakfast. DH's siblings came over to check out our house, and we made lunch. We worked alittle bit on the house, adn then went to my parents for dinner. Lots of family, and lots of eating haha.

Sunday we decided to paint our front door and paint our shutters. I feel like it's a whole new house! Then we went to my parents for dinner again.

  • Mine was pretty low key. Friday night we were just home and caught up on more Castle. Saturday I cleaned the apartment in the morning and got a lot done, DH had to work 7-7, and we met up later at our neighbor friends' house for a party where I fell asleep on the couch around 9. Oops! Yesterday I had a wedding client meeting, went grocery shopping, and spent the afternoon starting to clean up the office and organized all of our paper stuff that's been accumulating for months. Made burgers for dinner and finished catching up on Castle.

    We are so exciting. :P
