Pore degunker?

I've got a Clarisonic Mia but it never really seems to clear out my pores on my nose and my chin.  Do you think upgrading to the Clarisonic Pro might help?  Or is there treatment I can get that will extract the stuff out of my pores.  It's so gross and drives me nuts.

Re: Pore degunker?

  • I have the Pro and it doesn't clean any deeper than the Mia.  It has fancy timer settings that you can customize, but that's about it.  I use Ole Henricksen's blue/black enzyme mask to help with pore congestion and it's great.  Very gentle, but effective.

  • I've had my Mia about a year and a half and my nose still isn't clear. I've also tried switching moisturizers and cleansers and nothing seems to help.  So I use a combo of Biore strips and a metal pore extractor...

  • I agree with the PP about the metal pore extractor, that's what I use. I always exfoliate first then extract. I bascially give myself a mini facial every month, just to clean my pores around my nose,

  • I have ridiculously oily skin and my pores constantly look clogged. I've tried a million things: Proactive, DDF's Glycolic Wash and toner, Dr. Brandt's Pore Vacuum, Pore Strips, salicylic acid, tea tree oil, oil-cleansing method, to name a few. And they've initially helped a lot... but after a couple weeks, my skin returns to normal. :( About a month ago, I started doing some 40% glycolic peels at home from makeupartistschoice.com. I do them once a week and my skin just keeps looking better and better. (I still do the oil-cleansing method which helps a lot with the oiliness.)

My pores most definitely look smaller! They still have gunk in them but much less so than before. I'm hoping with continued use, my skin will keep improving. If you decide to try it, they have a sample size that's really reasonable, like $12 or something. Google for coupon codes too. I'm through half the bottle and I've done 4 peels so far. I also purchased the beta hydroxy solution to prep before the peels.

ETA: If anyone decides to try it, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. lol They say to start off with 1-2 minutes. Each week, increase the time by a minute. Trust me, up it by only a minute. I was like, "Oh my skin handled that really well. I'll up it more than just one measly minute!" Big mistake.
