Who has read it? It seems like everyone I know has read it and is obsessed with it. I'll admit, I never heard of it before the movie trailer came out, and I would like to read them, it sounds like a really interesting story from what a friend told me.
Those who have read it - would you recommend it? Are you going to see the movie?
Re: Hunger Games?
Yes yes yes! It is so worth reading. It's kind of dark but the plot is good and I really enjoyed the writing style.
H and I are going to see the movie that first Friday night it's out. I am beside myself with excitement lol

I copy and pasted from wikipedia because if I wrote a synopsis there would definitely be spoilers. There's a lot more info on the page if you want to look, but I didn't want to over-share.
It is written in first person and introduces sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive.
ohhh it sounds like I would like it a lot.
Has anyone else read Oryx and Crake, The Handmaid's Tale or a Wrinkle in Time? I really enjoy those types of books. Kind of darker, and sci-fi ish.
I loved a wrinkle in time when I was younger - I haven't read it since elementary school though! If you like those kind of books I think you would really like the Hunger Games trilogy.
Agreed. I think the hubby & I read the series in under a week & he is so totally not a reader by any means. I can't wait for the movie to come out.
