H and I have been talking about a weekend away before the baby comes. Where should we go? It will be a pretty short trip (either just a weekend, or maybe 3 days), and it needs to be driving distance. Right now our top choices are Nashville, Charleston or Savannah. We've been to Savannah before, but not to the other two places.
Any suggestions about any of these places? Any ideas for other places that we could investigate?

So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.

Charleston is gorgeous!! It's small, easy to walk around. I've only been there once, but I remember it's a little sketchy outside of the cute little downtown area.
The Outer Banks are my jam, but that's a really long haul to get out there. It would take us 4 hours from Raleigh. Wilmington is a lot more accessible and more quaint, especially if it's just fora weekend.
Nashville is fun, ton of restaurants and entertainment.
Ive never been to Savannah, but it's on my bucket list. I need to see those trees!
Hands down I would choose Charleston, there is so much to do in the historic district, as well as going out to the plantations, the aquarium, the ferry to Ft. Sumpter. When we go we either stay in the historic district or at at The Inn at Middleton Place. The inn is probably about 20 minutes from downtown though so it depends on what you really want to do.
We went to Savannah and I liked it but not more than Charleston. I feel that there is more to see in Charleston. We were only in Nashville for one day/night and I felt like that was plenty of time to see everything I wanted to.
