I'm trying to like greek yogurt.

This dannon oikos peach is better than the last one I tried. It still just feels like sour cream with a little bit of peaches.

What is the best?

Re: I'm trying to like greek yogurt.

  • I like Chobani.  I get fat free vanilla.  I sometimes add stuff - cinnamon, crumbled kashi bars, etc. to it as well.

  • I love the chobani Champions very berry greek yogurt,  it is for kids,  but it is by far my favorite and doesn't taste all sour creamy to me.   I actually bought it without realizing it was for kids at first.

There's no rule that says you have to like it - why are you hoping to incorporate it (calcium? protein? low sugar?)  Maybe there is another food that can "do" what you want yogurt to do.

  • I'm just a lurker, but I had a hard time getting to like greek yogurt at first too. I mixed the plain (I am weird about the fruit that comes in yogurt) with some vanilla regular yogurt, and then added my own fruit. Eventually I was just doing a small spoonful of the regular yogurt with mostly greek (Chobani) and now I eat solely Greek yogurt. I add a little agave nectar and fresh fruit to mine. For me it was the consistency of the Greek, because it was so thick and seemed chalky to me, but gradually introducing it helped me SO  much, I don't think I could go back to regular yogurt now!

  • Fage is my favorite, but Chobani is a close second. I think Fage has a milder flavor, more creamy and less tangy. I mix in Kashi Go Lean Crunch into it every morning for a double dose of protein.
  • I love Chobani but I just had an Oikos Key Lime for the first time today - it was like dessert.  Very light and fluffy.

  • Chobani is the best however since it can get $$, Trader Joe's version is a close second. I agree with putting Kashi cereal in it. So good!

  • I think Oikos and Chobani taste like sour cream with fruit too.

Try "Greek Gods".  Their honey yogurt is freaking amazing.  Much better taste and texture than either Chobani or Oikos, IMHO.

  • Fage with cherries is my favorite.  Fage generally is my #1, with Chobani being #2.

  • I hate greek yogurt. I usually incorporate fruit with it.

     Ditto. Fage = awesomesauce.

  • I do Chobani the plain low fat on.  1 small container, 1/2 cup frozen fruit, 1 scoop whey protein through the blender and I'm all set!!

  • I tried the dannon and also the yoplait brands of greek yogurt because I had coupons. YUCK!!...Fage is my favorite, I love the Strawberry and the Blueberry Yum, Chobani is  my second favorite.

  • MMmmm I love it all. But I've also always loved sour cream, so maybe that's why. My favorite is the Fage brand, I think? The one with the separate compartment with fruit topping. But the one I like has honey as the topping. So good.
