Rome: Hotels, Neighborhoods, Must See
We are spending 5 days in Rome before our Western Med. cruise and I'm trying to find a reasonable hotel that is in a good neighborhood for getting around without much hassle. Any recs for hotels, best areas to look in, or your fav. things to see/do would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Rome: Hotels, Neighborhoods, Must See
We stayed in the Campo de' Fiori neighborhood back in September. We found an awesome apartment through www.rentalinrome.com. We paid only 110 Euro per night plus 20 Euros for an agency fee which was extremely reasonable for its location and the size of the apartment. In addition to the Campo de' Fiori neighborhood, I would also recommend Piazza Navona. Both of these neighborhoods are centrally located, near the major bus lines, and have lots of dining options. I have an entry in my blog on our apartment rental: http://wanderlusttraveler.blogspot.com/2012/01/rome-italy-accomodation-dining.html
I also have an entry on things to do and see in Rome here: http://wanderlusttraveler.blogspot.com/2012/01/rome-italy-sightseeing.html
We were there four days, so with five days you will be able to see a lot!
We have stayed at both The Hotel Italia (hotelitaliaroma.it) and The Hotel Concordia (concordiahotel.it). Rome is my favorite place on Earth. I hope you love it. We have more details on our blog at: http://justanothertravelblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Italy
