Two new Snow White movies...
Did anyone else catch Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart on The Today Show this morning? The preview for their Snow White movie looked good.
Am I missing something though? I find it weird Julia Roberts is also going to be starring in another movie about Snow White. I realize Charlize & Kristen's movie is a darker take on the fairy tale, but still find it odd that two different movies are being released about Snow White. What a coinky dink.

Praise Jesus!
Yup, from publishing to television and movies, Fairy Tales and retellings are the next big trend.
There's supposed to be a Little Mermaid, Hansel & Gretel, more Snow White, Sleeping Beauty (Maleficent), Peter Pan and so many others.
I'm really excited about Snow White and the Huntsmen but not so much Mirror, Mirror

I'll go see the Huntsmen in theaters and wait for Mirror Mirror to come out on DVD.
Not really... like PP mentioned fairy tales are the "on trend" thing right now, but also what happens is that someone will get an idea, shop it around, and then you'll end up with two competing studios making similarly themed movies.
Examples off the top of my head include Volcano and Dante's Peak, Armageddon and Deep Impact, Antz and Bug's Life, Saving Private Ryan and A Thin Red Line,
yeah, but the only thing similar about these two shows are that they are based on fairy tales, otherwise the premises and plots are completely different. Grimm is more of a dark police drama where OUAT is more of a "strange town" Stephen King type of story. I like both shows and can see both of the movies doing well.
My only problem with the Julia Roberts movie is the girl chosen to play Snow White isn't, in my opinion, very pretty. She's certainly not "fairer" than Julia and what's with those eyebrows?
Her name is Lily Collins and if you go to her Imdb page, she is lovely.
It's like when the two magician movies came out around the same time, The Prestige and The Illusionist. Or the two asteroid movies, Deep Impact and Armageddon.
I'll probably see both of these Snow White ones, though I'm more excited about "...and the Huntsmen."
I'm sure she is very pretty but I don't think she looks very good in the movie, those eyebrows are very distracting and very few women are prettier than Julia Roberts on a good day.
