Spent the day at the mall and thought I did pretty good (two kids in tow). It wasn't until I got home that I realized, yet again I failed to purchase a single complete outfit. Sigh. Anyway here's my haul:
First up, American Eagle. I went a little crazy buying colored skinnies. I really liked the colors AE has, really pretty but not too bright. I do wish that they weren't so low-rise (Clearly, I am getting older. Sigh, again.)
I think I'm going to return the yellow and white ones, or maybe lavender and white. IDK.
Next up, Nordstroms. All BP.

Bought a bunch of these tanks in neutrals. They are my favorite for layering, especially under boxy tops. I size up and they are nice and long that way.

Got this sweater in gray, but returning it as the shape just doesn't work on me.

Love this jacket! It's faux leather of course (only $58), but it is really nice. Doesn't look like plastic and is very soft to the touch. The shape is great and it has nice details.
Also picked up a couple scarves (not pictured). And these shoes:

I know the boots might not be this board's cup of tea, but I live in Seattle. So all those cute wedges and sandles you gals are buying...I'll be lucky to wear them in June. So boots it is, and for the rare dry day I picked some Tom's in gray. Admittedly I'm late to the Tom's party and I will confess I thought they were the dumbest looking "shoe" I had ever seen when they first came out. And now they grace my feet.
On to Forever21:
Their site is down. Will update when it is back up. See IRL photos below for a few things.
Sephora:

NARS Velvet Lip Gloss Pencil In Mexican rose (new spring color). I think I may return this, it is brighter than I thought. Not sure it works on me.

Tarte cheek stain in natural beauty.
Here are a few IRL photos:

F21 top. It is actually a lace sort of material. A little sheer.

Love the crocheted back of this top! (nordstrom)

Jacket is super cute IRL. Trust me. (nordstrom)

Please ignore this combo and just focus on the jacket. It is very nice for F21.

Close-up for the boots I'm sure all will hate. I think I like them, they do make my feet look a little longer than they really are. I will probably have a tiny amount of sock showing when I wear then for real.
So that's it. Any comments, positive or negative will be taken, lol. Thanks for looking!
Re: My Spring Shopping Spree! very PIP heavy
1. You are very pretty.
2. If you are going to return a pair of the skinnies, i'd personally pick the lavender. I don't love the color, even on the model and I thinkn it'd be hard to match. I think the yellow is nice and springy, and really want a pair of white skinnies myself b/c they would be so versatile. I don't think everyone should wear white skinnies (and question whether I should myself), but you can definitely rock them.
3. Did the AE skinnies have stretch in them? if so, little/medium/a lot?
4. I actually kind of like the boots, if styled well I think they'd be cool.
Great shopping haul. I lreally love the 2 jackets. I love all the skinny jeans, but if you need to return a couple, I'd say the tan and lavender ones and keep the coral, white and yellow pairs. I'm not crazy about the Toms slip-ons. I like the boots.
You are very striking and pretty, btw.

Love your purchases. I'm not a toms fan. I tried them on and they were so uncomfortable and plasticy. I've been living in uggs the past 4 months lol. Can't believe I wore flip flops this weekend!

Thanks for the compliments!
As for the colored skinnies, I am for sure returning the white ones. As much as I love the look of white jeans, they will be a total disaster for me for the following reasons:
1. I have two little kids and if I get within five feet of them I will wind up with grape jelly on my ass, especially if I am wearing white.
2. the whole sheer issue with white clothing isn't something I want to deal with when it comes to pants.
As boring as the brown ("putty" as they are named) ones are I think they will go with a lot of what I have and I can wear the color year round. The orange-red ones are more of a bright coral IRL. I like them for spring/summer and the color is a nice departure from the boring neutrals/ earth tones I typically stick with.
So it comes down to the yellow or lavender ones. I'm leaning towards keeping the lavender. It is a very pretty shade, looks more muddy online. The yellow is really pretty too, but they are light and I might run into the same issues as I will with white. The lavender might go better with my gray boots too.
Oh, and the AE skinnies do have stretch. I hope they don't stretch out too much as I wear them. I would hate for them to get baggy in the knee.
They have colored jeggings that would be even stetchier I imagine, but the jeggings are offered in different colors and are much brighter.
I love the boots! I think I purchased a really similar pair in black but had to return them because they didn't work for my feet
. and I totally feel you on the Seattle clothing issue. I usually wear uggs or rainboots to work, and then change when I get there!
Super-cute purchases. I think the lavender jeans would actually work great on you! So I vote return yellow and white.
Nice haul!!
Great stuff!
So by your f/u post, I'm guessing the white skinnies are somewhat sheer/see-through? Boo
I need a pair of white pants! Either way, those are some great colors. I'm going to have to head in there to try them on!
Very impressive that you managed to get that much shopping done w/ both your kids with you

Great stuff! I'm with you, I'll be avoiding the white/light colored skinnies until my kids are teens!
