How do you store winter clothes?
We are going to be listing our house for sale in probably May. I keep all my winter clothes in our spare bedroom closet (our bedroom closet is tiny). So I was thinking of going ahead and packing up most of my sweatshirts and sweaters. What's the easiest way? Totes? Those bags you see on tv where you suck the air out of them?
Re: How do you store winter clothes?
I like to use large plastic bins that shut tightly. I am pretty sure that you need to use plastic to keep out any potential moths from getting into the sweaters - they will eat through cloth or paper storage bags/bins. You should also launder or dry clean the sweaters because sweat/hair on the sweaters will attract moths. I have never actually had an issue with moths, but I wouldn't want to, so I take these precautions.
The vacuum bags could also be a good option since it sounds like you are short on space - you could store them under beds. I have never used them though so can't recommend a particular brand.
