So, what did you think about last night's episode?
I was a big fan of the Quinn/Barney storyline. I thought it would be hard to make her an endearing character (considering she tried to swindle Barney out of $) but she and Barney were hilarious together. I knew something was up with all the cutesy names he was calling her.
Yay for Robin getting back on air! I knew she would after the NYE episode.
Were you surprised that Robin and Ted won't see each other for a long time? My guess is that they become friends again when Lilly and Marshall's baby is born. In fact, if I was a betting woman, I'd bet they'll do something with "major" or "private" and become friends again.
Am I lame for thinking that?
Re: HIMYM - spoilers
Not lame at all! I think that happened on a Thanksgiving episode one year?
I really enjoyed the Quinn/Barney story.... esp. their high-five. So cute.
Hooray for Robin getting on the air. I knew she wasn't going to get fired. She and Ted definitely need space from each other, but I wonder how that is going to work into the show. Are they going to cut Robin out for awhile?
Marshall and Lilly's storyline was kind of lame.
Really? You guys like Quinn? I feel like the situation seems very forced. Why is suddenly Barney settling down, moving in with a girl so fast. Especially her, after the scamming thing I have a hard time believing she'd actually care about Barney.
I guess I was hoping he'd end up with Norah.
I'm getting bored with this show. I kind of wish they'd wrap it up. Didn't they start the whole "who's wedding is it" thing like 2 seasons ago?
I so agree, let's find out who the mother is already. I love the show and if they didn't have this whole "who's it gonna be?" thing going, they could still have a great show about friends and relationships and the narration. They could still get a couple more seasons out of "How I Proposed to Your Mother". As long as they keep the great writing, humor, acting and chemistry I don't think a name change would affect the show much.
I really can't decide if I like Quinn or not.
Originally I wanted Barney with Norah, but really, isn't it appropriate that Barney end up with a stripper? It's perfect really.
Has everyone given up on Barney and Robin? They were a lot a like as well, much better suited then her and Ted, at least I think.
I sitll enjoy the show but admit it's not as good as it used to be.
I thought Marshel and Lilly were annoying in this episode. I like Quinn and Barney together. I didn't think I would. I couldn't stand the Nora character. I was really wishing Robin and Barney would get back together. Maybe they still will. Now that Robin is going to be on TV maybe she won't be so pathetic. The 3 college students that were outside Ted's room acting like Ted, Marshall and Lilly were funny. It was a better episode than I thought it wold be.
I agree with this. Barney went from this funny player to a serious relationship kind of guy super fast; it feels weird to me and I think the show has lost a lot of the humor because of it.
Marshall and Lilly are so boring now, Robyn is pathetic and horribly styled especially this season, and I've got to the point that I don't even care who Ted marries. The earlier episodes were great but everyone just seems miserable now. I really hope they wrap this show up before everyone stops watching it.
I actually thought Robin's hair looked great last nite (for the first time this season).
Everyone is saying that Barney's character has changed too much since he has been with Quinn, but what about when he was with Norah? He was much more annoying with her I thought. To me, Quinn makes more sense. I would have loved for it to be Robin, but can see how it might not fit.
I've been holding out for Barney and Robin to get back together. I do like Quinn though and I think it's fitting that Barney be married to a stripper. They are a lot alike I think.
I'm over Lily and Marshall right now.
I still love this show...I know I'm in the minority here!
I'm not surprised at Barney being in a relationship with Quinn. His character has grown over the course of this show, from being in love and starting a serious relationship with Robin (and later Norah) and from meeting and developing a relationship with his father.
I'm also not hating Marshall and Lily...but in my mind Jason Segel can do no wrong.
ITA.
As much as I love this show, I'm ready for them to start wrapping things up.
I liked this episode, and I'm glad it finally seems like we're getting somewhere. I actually don't care about knowing who the mother is as much as everyone else seems to BUT I did care that the show was starting to suck because the alternate storylines were just getting awful and boring.
I like Quinn. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I don't want Robin and Barney to get back together. I never really wanted them to get together in the first place.
Isn't the show supposed to end after the next season? So it isn't like it can drag on for a few more years. Some episodes are dull, but I did like this one. I also like Quinn & didn't want Barney & Robyn to end up together. It would just be too easy.
I think it is odd they won't see each other for a while, but it kinda goes back to that one episode where Victoria (I think) made the comment about them all being friends.
