General Hospital question
I haven't watched it in 15 years probably but flipped through and saw that they were having a funeral for Robin. How did they kill her off and why?

I haven't watched in a long time either but didn't the character contract HIV back in the late 90s?
I haven't watched in a few years, but the guy who plays Patrick was on Extra the other day to talk about the return of Rick Springfield.
They showed a clip of Robin being stuck in a room in the hospital that exploded, and he couldn't get to her. Your typical GH hospital explosion....not sure why though, she had announced she was leaving the show a few months ago.
A website posted this:
she is killed off in a stupid explosion because her whiny cousin?s purse accidentally turned on a poisonous gas in Robin?s hospital lab and those noxious fumes left Patrick Drake unconscious. Robin finds him lying on the ground and drags him out of the lab. She runs back in to get the medicine that might save Jason?s life and she gets trapped inside. Patrick desperately tries to open the doors to get his wife out, but an explosion ends it all for her character.
I agree with this description 100%. She apparently asked to be killed off. Leading up to this, she started having problems with her HIV meds and made it seem like she might develop AIDS and die that way. But no, it was quite possibly the DUMBEST death scene in a long time. She's trapped in a hospital lab, where there is apparently no safety issues, so you know, she doesn't get trapped inside!?! It was a bit offensive way to kill someone off who has been on the show on and off since she was like 5.
BUT I'm pretty sure no one actually looked at or saw her charred body (although several tried), so she is always available to come back to life years from now!

I still have a HUGE crush on Robert Scorpio circa 1983. If there was a way to create a person (ala Weird Science) from scratch, that character is what I would build for myself.

Admittedly, I usually half watch and don't actually look at the screen when I'm watching GH, but I thought he went in there and broke down before he actually opened the body bag. But even if she did, she'd be unrecognizable = someone like helena's got her and she can resurface at anytime!
yeah, he looked. but they said her body was burnt beyond recognition, so it wasn't like he saw her face.
i vote Helena is holding her hostage, and when Kimberly McCullough gets tired of the directing thing, she comes back a la Lucky.
I think Faison has her (or Helena, or both). When it aired, I remember thinking, "can we say Lucky??"

I wish Sean Donally would make a comeback. The actor isn't playing Kelly's Dad on Beverly Hills 90210 anymore, so he should have time!
Kim asked to leave the show to direct but also said that she wanted to have the option to come back in the future because she had spent so much time on GH and it was like a family to her.
They killed her off in an explosion that no one saw happen (Patrick had his back turned to the room at the time) and they just had the charred body there. When her meds weren't working she asked Jason to spirit her out of the country, so I personally think that she either turned to Anna (because she had a pretty non-emotional reaction at first and it wasn't until a few days later that she started getting truly weepy) to fake her death (because Anna is obviously pretty good at that) or an old enemy has her kidnapped.
