Weekly Check-in

How'd everyone do last week?

Re: Weekly Check-in

  • I lost 1lb. (4 from last week but a gain doesn't count). I had a good week exercise wise. Sunday was the Shamrock Run. I wasn't necessarily racing since I was running with a friend and didn't want to ditch her. We had to stop and walk a couple of times. I was feeling stronger then I ever have during a race. Not once did I want to die! Which gives me confidence for my upcoming 5 mile race. We finished in 36:57. On a side note: DH ran the 8k (4.97m) in 44:07, that's slightly under a 9mm! And we decided that I didn't need him to be my training wheels in races and preferred to run solo since our paces are so different.

This week I'm going to try a yoga class at the gym. I've been saying that for over a month, so this week I'm going! And... I have the longest run I've ever done this week, 4 miles! I'm nervous but after yesterdays 3 I know I can push out another mile.

I need to drink mere water, I'm dehydrated all the time...

  • Howdy!!

I'm excited to be joining you ladies this week!  I broke out the scale and weighed myself... 153.6.  I am still about 20lbs heavier than I was before I got pregnant.  I plan on starting out slow by recording what I eat and trying to walk as much as possible.  I am glad that the weather has been nice so I can get outside.

Anyone else use the MyFitnessPal app on their phone?  I downloaded it and I really like it so far.  I like that is adjusts your calories when you add in exercise.

So that's that :-)  Hopefully I see a slightly smaller number on the scale next week.  Good luck to the rest of you on your weigh in's today!

  • I lost 1.4 pounds in the past week. Believe it or not, increasing my daily calories has made the weight come off faster. I've also decided that I don't want to be a runner anymore. Almost every single day last week I walked at least 5 miles. I'm going to try and keep it up.

Good job Erin, that's awesome, you're way faster than me.

hinmighty: I use MFP, I totally love it. My mom and my best friend/brother's girlfriend all use it together because we're all trying to lose weight for our vacation. I really like that it has all the Walmart "Great Value" stuff, as that is where we do all our grocery shopping. I never eat back my calories from exercise though.

  • I didn't lose any weight until Saturday, when I lost 6 lbs over the course of 3 hours.

I ran 23 miles last week. 13.1 of those were in the form of the Rock n Roll USA half marathon in Washington, DC. I ran 2:30:xx, which was officially 2 minutes faster than my best half to date. So I PR'd, but not without a steep price. I severely dehydrated, my IT band exploded on me on the 4 mile hill of doom, and up until 10am this morning I was pretty sure I was going to have to go to the hospital for fluids, even though I've been guzzling water and electrolytes like a champ- all of my lower muscle groups have been cramping up, I've been running a fever, am not hungry at all, and have been loopy. But I'm feeling better, promise. And Imma do it again to crush this time. Running is fun, promise!

  • Moshi- sorry you had such a sh**y run and rough recovery but congratulations on your PR! Your impressive and that's a great time! Me and DH are thinking about doing a half sometime next year. After I get a few longer races under my belt.

Lexi- thanks, I'm not very fast a 12 mm. But I'm getting stronger and more comfortable in my abilities. Running is hard! Great job on walking all those miles last week. I'm glad you found something that your enjoying Smile

  • Well since it was my March Break, I had all these big hopes of getting outside and doing all this activity...a cold kind of put those plans on hold in the beginning and then the rest of the week was filled with me reading like crazy! I just couldn't put the books down, so I decided to just really watch what was going in my mouth to try to help offset the lack of activity.

I actually went up 1.4 lbs and then managed to drop that by my regular weigh-in day.  So I am still where I was this time last week, which is fine for me!

This week I really want to get back to basics and follow my meal plan from the first few weeks in January.  I am hoping that this will help me reach -30lbs.  Plus the weather has been insanely crazy, so I am going to get outside to walk.
