  Its cold there. Wear boots and sweaters. My friend who is there said its been in the 50s lately. I think they wear boots and sweaters all year round. When I was there last August I saw many boots and sweaters. I wish I had known. I was freezing!

  Yea the weather there can really be unpredictable and can vary by 20-30 degrees in one day.  And depends where in SF you will be - closer to the water (think Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, etc.) it can be really foggy and can be cooler if there is a breeze, and then downtown SF can be really warm and you walk a block and it's cold.  It's hard to dress and be predictable so I suggest layers and boots are good option too with tights and a dress with a cardigan you can easily carry if necessary and throw on or take off as needed.  Same with boots and skinnies, layers are your friend.

  Definitely sweaters and a jacket.  We went a bunch of years ago and I told DH and my BIL to pack jackets but they thought me and my sister were nuts b/c it was CA.  They froze their asses off and ended up buying jackets

   I agree. I have been to San Francisco in March, July, and August and you definitely can wear boots and sweaters. When were out last August, I wore skinny jeans, boots/flats, a tee, a light cardigan, jacket and scarf. I wore the same variation except for a heavier sweater when we were there 2 years ago in late March.

  It's cloudy and 56 degrees right now.  We're supposed to get rain early next week.  I would definitely bring boots and sweaters.

  Starting on Thur it is going to rain for 7 days. Bring an umbrella, rain boots, sweater, coat and lots of warm clothing. It has been very cold and windy in SF.

  Dh and I went there 4 years ago in Mid March. I am guessing we had  unusual weather because it was absolutly beautiful there. we wore layered tops and light jackets and walked  all over the place .We were never cold.
