I went over my calories yesterday and today. I only ran 1 1/2 miles Monday. I ended up not running yesterday because I was so exhausted when I came home. I feel like I am failing at this diet already. I gained a pound last week
Re: Failing....
So I try to look at these on the positive side: you tracked calories and are aware of what you're putting in your body, you ran 1.5 miles on Monday. Those are good things.
I go over my calories. I go days without any semblance of exercise. I definitely ate a hot dog and chili cheese fries on Sunday. And I just try to tell myself to do better tomorrow. Do better next week. There's no sense in beating yourself up about it.
I've learned some tough lessons about patience and perseverence throughout the past year--and continue to learn them. Focus on what you have accomplished and what you can do...but allow yourself room for error and imperfection.
Thank you Pennypie
Don't be so hard on yourself. Fitness is a lifelong journey, it's not all or nothing. Just because you went over a cals a day or two and skipped a workout does not mean that you've derailed all your progress and should just quit. There are going to be ups and downs. Some weeks you will gain a little, some you will lose, but in the end, if you stick to your plan the majority of the time, the numbers will come out in your favor.
Be patient and you'll get there!
