Lifting Breaks...

How many days should you rest between lifting certain body parts? Right now i do one a week  but i would like to do legs twice a week as i see more improvements in other areas more. Is 3-4 days in between legs enough rest time?

  • I always thought it was 48 hours between lifting the same muscle groups.  I think 3-4 days seems like a lot.

  • I've always heard every other day.  3-4 days sounds too long.

  • My trainer initially said with legs once a week is enough.. but i would like to step that up.
  • Legs are one of the biggest muscle groups in the body and for me when I work them really hard they are sore for at least 3-4 days.  I think if you feel ok (aren't too sore or fatigued) then you can certainly do them twice a week but for me I like to give them a nice break long to recover.  Most other muscle groups I am fine with doubling up on but legs are another beast, especially if I am running they get tired a lot faser if I work them too hard.
