I have a couple of job interviews coming up (It's forecasted to be in the upper 60's on the interview days, if that matters at all) and cannot figure out if I should wear hosiery. I work in a creative/arts-oriented field and usually wear a dress or a slightly non-traditional suit and in the past I have worn sheer black hose to interviews, but I'm wondering it that sort of thing matters anymore outside of the conservative corporate or legal fields. Stick with the hose or ditch them this time?
Also, I have been freelancing for the last two years, but last spring I briefly worked full-time for a company. It turned out to be a terrible fit from my perspective and after 3 1/2 months I quit (thought I left on good terms with them) and went back to freelance.... should I mention this position in the interview and explain why I left? That position is not on my resume and since I was freelancing a lot over the last two years, it doesn't appear that there is a gap on my resume at all. If they found out later, do you think it would be a problem? Thoughts?
Re: Two interview questions
I would go hose free.
Hav me your other positions been longer term and proven that you are a reliable employee and willing to stay longer? If so, I would include the job so it doesn't look like you were hiding anything. Because you will need to put it on your formal application.
