Re: Babies and bumps (to-be)

  • Where is everybody? This is my favorite post all week, show me those bellies and babies!!

I'm still trying to figure out the heck my body is doing or not doing. My chart is super confusing, I don't know if I O'd CD38 or CD 43, or not at all. Up through yesterday I was still getting +OPK's, which is totally weird. I would have tested again today but I ran out of OPK's. I just want this cycle to end so I can start fresh again.

This months marks one year TTC for us so my doctor will finally see me about TTC problems, I just need to make the appointment.

  • Bailey, it definitely looks like you could have O'd on CD38.  I hope so!  But that's good news about being about to get in to see the dr.  My fingers are always crossed for you!

Not much to report for me.  I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and just waiting for my NT scan on April 2!  We head back to NYC for Easter to tell my ILs and our friends in person, assuming everything looks good.  I'm still feeling great, although I'm really tired today and have had a few twinges of nausea.  I'm hoping that won't get any worse.

Still no bump, but I think I might start to see a difference over the next few weeks.

  • Bailey - This is a total long shot, as I'm sure you've POAS already to check, but did you try and see if you're pregnant? My only thought is your + OPKs are actually detecting the pregnancy hormone. There's no way they should still be telling you a +. I used to pee on them when I thought I was pregnant, because they'll detect both. Like I said..long shot, but just in case.

We're not really doing anything new. Jackson refuses to crawl. I think he knows eventually I'll give in to his whining and pick him up, so he doesn't want to attempt it. He does crawl backwards and finds himself getting stuck under things, but it takes a while. He really prefers to stand and walk while we hold his hands.

Today he is 8 months, and I just can't believe how fast time is going.

We're finding that he's starting to get scared of things. Last night I was setting up a photo and had him sitting in our bay window. He was freaking out and wouldn't move. He also got scared of my friend's dog when he was super hyper the other day. Granted, I'm not a huge fan, either, so I get it. There's a bit of the "stranger danger" thing going on, but he's still pretty chill.

I'm pretty happy with this stage and some recent ones. I like that he's always smiley and easy to please. I think we're getting ready to see another tooth, but no little buds just yet.

  • Bailey - looking at your chart, I agree it looks like you may have O'd on CD38.  Always praying for you.  Glad to hear that you can finally see your doctor and figure out what is going on.  Good luck FX for you!

Ups: The weather has been fabulous so the boys are playing outside more.  I love watching them since they are so curious about everything, and having lots of room to run. The boys turned 20 months over the weekend, and I still can't believe they will be 2 in 4 short months. Time is flying by.

Downs: Christian has still has a nasty cough and has been waking up from it in the middle of the night, and then thinking it is party time from 2-4 a.m. Not fun. He has also been extra whiney lately, and continuing with major tantrums.  According to DC he doesn't do them there. Ahh the phases of toddlers.

  • Bailey, I stalked your chart this morning, and yeah, hella confusing.  My money is on no O yet, or just happening now.  Hump it out!  GL with the doc!

Tomorrow is my 35/35 day.  Hoe.Lee.Crap.Ola.

On my BMB today we're doing "Then and Now" for HDBD, so I might as well share with you guys too.

Here's me the day we got our BFP at 9 DPO:

    image

Here is me at 20 weeks

    image

And here is me yesterday, so basically 35 weeks!

    image

    I got's a bump yo!

Ups: I can finally get going on this nursery!

I snapped 2 pictures to give you an idea of where it is now.  The room is pretty small, so they're not the best pictures.

Here's the crib and dresser.  I think they will be switching places.

    image

My repurposed chair and the closet:

    image

I need to get going on shelves, window treatment and a curtain or something for the closet.  And wall art.  We have a few things and I'm making some more.

    Downs:

I guess the swelling.  That's starting to pick up in my legs/ankles/feet.  FUN.  I need to take breaks from work around the house pretty frequently too, as my back gets sore quickly, but I'm still able to do pretty much everything.

  • Bailey - I'm keeping fingers crossed for you!

raynes - your bump looks glorious, as always. :)

I am 17 weeks, as of yesterday. my bump has officially popped, and yesterday, it was quite large. nothing new to report really - we have a regular appointment on Friday (my birthday!) and after that, we'll have our A/S on April 5th.

Ups: I feel great! I feel comfortable sporting the bump now that it's pretty obvious that it's baby. I still feel like I'm larger than most first time moms at this stage, but that may be because I was slightly overweight to begin with. either way, I love this bump.

Downs:  pelvic pain is terrible. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it on Friday, and see if she recommends seeing a chiropractor. either way, I'll be buying a support belt (thank you kaesha for the suggestion) to help until I can figure it out. I'm also struggling just a bit with anxiety as I transition from one medication to another, but it's normal to not feel the full effects of it for a couple weeks.

    and for the bump reveal:

    image

    image

um, that's not even toothpaste on the mirror. it's water spots... Bear likes to play in the sink water, which involves dipping his head under the faucet. then he shakes off like a dog. weird cat.

  • raynes- It's crazy to see that transformation. I can't believe tomorrow is your 35/35! Ah, so close!

bailey- I honestly have no idea how the charting thing works but I wanted to tell you I'll continue to keep my fx for you! It's going to happen, I just know it!

Ups: Hayden is becoming a lot for "playful". I like to come home from work and we just hang out and play on her mat or with some of her toys. She's fun to watch and the gummy smiles are the best.

Downs: She has woke up between 4 and 5 a few times this week so I'm really tired. She isn't wanting to finish her last bottle before bed. We really have to work with her to finish it and then she sleeps better. She has also been spitting up more. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about since she hardley ever did it before we've just decided that keeping a bib on her is the best route to go right now. That way we aren't changing her 10 times a day. I'm just going to keep my eye on it for now.

    And some aw pics!

image See what I mean about the gummy smiles!

image My 2 loves snuggling. I love that he loves her. I think he looks like he's smiling in this one too.

    Have a good day ladies!

  • Ups: We are finally over this bug that he has had. He is feeling like a normal baby again. He's also finally started to really crawl. As in no belly on the floor and no on his hands and not his elbows. It seems like it has taken forever to get to this point. imageThis is how he slept the other night.

Downs: He hasn't slept well the last couple nights and has been waking up every couple hours screaming and the only thing that helps is moving him into bed with me.

  • Hi ladies, mine is pretty much all downs:

No crawling, no mama's, baba's, dada's to speak of not even real ma, da, ba's. He still stands funny. He has finally started really pulling up and sitting on his own. On our 9 month checklist most of the questions we have to say no to. I officially have a special needs kid. It's frustrating because we've done everything right and my son is significantly delayed.

ETA: Also 9 months and not a tooth to speak of.

ups: We will finally get a birth-3 referral at our 9 month appointment on Monday.

  • Aw MO, I'm sorry you have mostly all downs.  FWIW, I didn't cut my first tooth until I was nearly 1!

  • ::Hugs MO::: Sorry for the mostly downs today. Wasn't he a premature? Maybe that has something do with his delays? I'm sure he'll be crawling and saying mama before you know it!

I've actually been meaning to mention this to you. I know it's a long shot but it happened to two friends for another board, so maybe?

  • Since I'm on the same board as raynes, I'll do my progressions as well.

My first pic I didn't even take until 17w1d.  I can't believe I used to by skinny!  There's nothing even there!

    And finally today at 36w1d...

Honestly, it's mostly all ups still.  I generally still sleep pretty well but that is starting to get a little uncomfortable.  I ran yesterday and it felt great.  I get ridiculous amounts of attention at work and people tell me that I look cute and that I'm all baby.  I'm not much for attention but it's nice to know I'm looking good.

Baby is moving...a LOT!  Especially later at night.  So much wiggling around.

I'm hoping to have the nursery all decorated this weekend and have my hospital bag packed.  The nursery is nothing spectacular but i'll try to take a pic when I'm done.

Downs...my foot hurts today?  Not sure if it's because I was at the smaller hospital today and had to keep running up to the floors or if it's the beginning of plantar fasciitis or something.  I'm hoping resting it tonight will make it feel better.  Last night I woke up at 4am and was hungry and baby was moving a lot so I got up for an hour and then went back to bed for an hour.

  • I'm late and on my phone, so no pics, but I am definitely popping.

Ups: Tons! I'm feeling quite a bit of movement, which is awesome. We found out she is a girl last Friday and the a/s went great. I finally told my students (and they were excited), so now I can wear clothes that actually fit rather than super baggy clothes which I was struggling to find. And I had two friends give me tons of maternity clothes, so I am set for awhile!

Downs: nothing really, though BIL left a couple of really tasty looking beers in our fridge when he was here this weekend...the hot weather makes them look awfully tasty...ha!

  • Late update! I had a busy day, went to the dentist today.

Darian is changing so much lately! He's definitely crawling now, it's hard to keep him in one spot even for a minute. He loves pulling himself up too. It's like now that he's discovering these new tricks, he can't get enough of them.

No words yet, but he keeps babbling dadadada (although we know it doesn't mean anything). I keep trying to get him to say mama and he just laughs at me. Bugger.

I totally love this phase. He's so happy most of the time.

  • obviously I am really late to the board. Oops.

AF came two days ago. She is such a B** to me. I almost always end up cramping up so bad that I puke. I am a wee bit disappointed. We will be taking at least this next cycle off as DH is in his final papers and we are moving, it would just be too much.

On the up side, I got DH a really cute book that I plan to give him when we get our BFP. It is called "Old Bear and His Cub". I plan on writing a little blurb inside on the day it happens.

I didn't get my first tooth until 14 months! My mother thought I was going to be toothless forever.

As for the special needs, maybe they'll be temporary. I have a student this year who didn't start speaking until she was 4. She's a solid student now!

And, even if he does struggle, Mo, I cannot think of a better mother for him.
