Renting

How do you ladies find places to rent? I have looked at at least fifteen sites and have not found one with what I am looking for. I haven't found a suitable place in the news paper. I never thought trying to find a small apartment could be so hard

Re: Renting

  • We found our current house on militarybyowner.com. You can also try the base housing office. They usually have info on apartments in the area.

  • Ahrn.com is pretty good and had the most listings of any site I looked at.  We ended up on base though because good rentals are scooped up very quickly where we are.
  • rent.com, forrent.com, apartmentguide.com, ahrn.com, realtor.com, zillow.com. We try and use rent.com because we can get $100 back by saying we found our apt from their site.

If you want a house try a realtor. Stop by base housing and see if they recommend or have a partnership with certain properties.

That is where we found our house.  You can also call a realtor in the area and they can give you listings to rental houses.

  • Thanks Mel I am going to check that out in a minute :). The same thing happens here we are in a tourist area and I want to move before summer. This place is just to big for P and I. Thanks Kristen :)
  • Thanks Marie and Chloe :). I didn't realize there were so many rental sites
  • I've found at least 5 of the places I've lived in the last 10 or so years through craigslist.

    No problem.

  • When we found our apartment, I found it on rent.com. We were able to get a $100 rebate from the website as well.

  • I looked on craigslist but nothing fit our needs. I found a place about 30-45 minutes from base and it is half our rent now. I wish I could convince P it was a good idea
  • For our move coming up, I've been looking at craigslist and homes.com, but I also googled mls listings in the state we're moving to--that pulls up sites directly through realtors usually, and I've had good luck there.
