Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals?
I keep seeing these sandals mentioned on this board, and while I think they are cute, they don't seem much different than many others I've seen (and are a little more money). Are they really comfortable? What's special about them?
I ask b/c I'm trying to find a ton of things I want to order from Amazon b/c I accidently ordered WAY too much from myhabit before I realized that returns were in the form of amazon credit only.
The gigi's might make the cut if someone can sell me on them.
Re: Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals?
I ordered them last summer, excited to find a replacement for similar SM sandals from 2008 and was disappointed. I ignored the reviews that it digs in btwn your toes and thought I could handle the piece, but I couldn't. They went back.

I got them because I liked the color blocked style and didn't see anything similar. I'd rather spend a little more on shoes if they're well made and comfortable, and I personally find them comfortable, and I know that SE makes good quality shoes. I like that even though they are really flat, that the foot bed is padded, so my heels don't hurt even if I wear them all day.
I don't know, you can certainly get cheaper shoes; I like to invest a little more, take them to the cobbler at the end of the season, and wear them for a few years. So I don't mind spending the money (although $60 for sandals isn't bad IMO). Personally I feel like you get what you pay for with cheap shoes, and for me if they aren't comfortable and don't last more than 1 summer, than I won't purchase them. With the exception of flip flops, but I really only wear those to the pool/beach or sometimes around the house; I won't wear flip flops to go out anywhere.

I ordered them but they are B/O until mid April so I really can't say. The reason I chose them is because they're a classic style, have the padded foot bed, and the color is the exact color I want (I chose the "saddle", which is just the cognac color).
I'm really hoping the toe part isn't too uncomfortable, but I know that it rubbed when I tried it on last year. I sized up a half size this time based on the reviews. Here's hoping!
I got mine last year, but don't remember them being that much more expensive (maybe $60?) than similar sandals. And, the padded sole made them more comfortable than other sandals I looked at.
I also got the saddle color and find they are really versatile and comfortable.
I definitely don't think that $60 is a lot to pay for nicer sandals. I guess I just wondered if there was something significantly better about these than the 100's of other t-strap sandals that are in the $20 range. I dont' mind paying for quality, just want to spend my $ wisely.
For example, target has a knock off that looks nearly identical to these:

So if the SE are not more comfortable, I'd just buy the target version so I could get a couple other styles too.
ETA: I guess the link just takes to the generic page. It is the saddle/black option that target has (among other colors), which is one of the 2 colors I was looking to buy.
Just an fyi- my friend got the Target version, and she said they weren't comfortable if you're going to wear them for a period of time. I also ordered the SE Gigis, and I look forward to getting them!
