Costochondritis

Yup. That is the new theory for my non-gall bladder pain. It is still there even with the meds for my ulcer. We think that the ulcer was just there and happened to be found. Now they think my herniated disc is pulling on ligaments causing inflammation of tissue around my ribs (coscochondritis). Got that? Good. That is one of us.

So what do you take for inflammation? Antiinflammatories -- but if you have an ulcer you can't because you know you could bleed to death and stuff. Also, my back has been bothering me, but I can't take any of the meds for my back because of said ulcer. So, I have an appointment with the chiropractor I saw when pregnant for my back -- but GI doctor says this is the appropriate route for everything until my ulcer heals. Then, he says I have to get my back fixed. No maintaining the pain and living with it -- has to be better.

So, honestly I feel better if this theory is true. It means that I don't have a bad back and a bad gall bladder (or whatever). All my pain is due to my back. I'm only half as much of a mess as I thought I was! We just happened upon the ulcer, which is good to know for my overall health -- but many people have ulcers and don't know it.

Geeze! I need a drink. But, alas thanks to my ulcer no drink for me either.

  • I feel bad as I originally read this as COSTCOchondritis and assumed you had the same disease as me:  the inability to go to Costco without spending tons of money :(

I sure hope this clears up real soon for you!

I read this the same way originally!

That sounds terrible.  Hopefully they can get things sorted out for you really soon.  What would they have to do to "fix" your back?  Surgery?

It's always the worst when you can't drink away your problems.  I personally find that wine solves all sorts of problems :)

  • Yikes. I hope they can patch you up and get you back to 100% soon!
