Papers served
H got served tonight. I went out with a friend cuz I didn't want to be home when he got the papers (the girls are at my mom's for the night). I'm guessing my attorney's office will call tomorrow to discuss the next step. Plus I am still waiting on a call back regarding changing our living arrangements. I surprisingly feel relieved. Strange?

Not strange...I think the waiting will make you crazy and this makes it more "real", if that makes sense!
Hope your lawyer calls back soon with some help with the living situation!
I don't think its strange at all to feel relieved at having an official step completed! I know they all meant a lot to me, of course, most of all, the final dissolution!!
Is this a requirement in your state? Neither of us served papers on the other.
Yes. Now he's got a certain amount of time to respond (either by agreeing or contesting). I think it's either 20 or 30 days.
In the end we were able to do a dissolution and the Magistrate court date was cancelled and we were given a final court date before a judge.

Really? I did not know this. I thought we could file the dissolution together and go from there. But I would love to serve his sorry a$$. He is refusing to discuss a dissolution bc he "wants to work it out." Id rather not file a complaint bc of the $$, but if he wont do the dissolution, then I will do what I have to do. On the other hand, if I can still serve him with dissolution docs that might also work with all the things Im worried about- him refusing, still low cost.
