Opinions on Allegiant Air?
We're headed to Disney World in November and I noticed we could go pretty inexpensively through Allegiant Air even with paying baggage fees and renting a car. Anybody have any experience with them? Are they fairly reliable? Any issues flying with them? TIA
Re: Opinions on Allegiant Air?
We flew Allegiant from Sanford (Orlando) to Youngstown a couple winters ago, and I've got a friend who flies to NC pretty often to visit his family. Neither of us have had a problem, but I don't fly with them because the airports are not as convenient for me and my family as Akron-Canton and OIA.
We flew with them to Vegas once and everything went fine. I would fly with them again.
Just be careful when you're making your reservation online -- they automatically tack on a lot of extras (like paid seat assignments), but you can uncheck those boxes to keep the price down.
Our wedding on Wilson Island!
i flown with them out of sanford to somewhere in indiana, and from st pete/clearwater to tri cities TN. both flights were super cheap - if you book over the phone they charge you, so book online if possible.. i forget why I had to book over the phone - they also charge you for seat assignments, travel protection & everything else under the sun.
the check in counter closes 45 minutes prior to boarding - so don't be late. Oh, if you don't buy a seat assignment you can't check in online (at least in sanford) ..so make sure you arrive in plenty of time. (that sucked bc we had to wait for my sister to get off work at 7am for a 8:30 flight..we cut it super close and had to pay for seats so we could check in early.
We have not had any problems either leaving from AZ, it is a nice airline that is not overly expensive-I would give them a shot.
I've flown w/ them twice. No problems at all. Also, w/ both flights, i was prepared to carry on my luggage and when i got to the counter they offered free checked baggage. Like pps said, they nickle and dime you for everything so just be prepared w/ your own snacks and buy a water or 2 once you're past security.
